Bactericidal Cleaner Concentrate - 5 litres

One 5 litre container typically lasts 10 to 11 months for 1 urinal bowl fitted with a Gentworks or Aquafree UMD retrofit cartridge.
Cleaning of urinals: Dilute 10:1, spray and wipe as with other cleaning fluids. Can also be used for Floor cleaning in 40:1 dilution.
Weekly dosing/slucing of Aquafree UMDs: Mix approximately 100ml of Gentworks Bactericidal Cleaner with 900ml of warm water, then pour over and around the dome of Urinal Maintenance Device, if fitted.
Dosing/sluicing of urinals fitted with GW6: Mix approximately 100ml of Gentworks Bactericidal Cleaner with 900ml of warm water, then pour into bowl and allow to drain. This is not essential but is recommended every 2 to 4 weeks as an aid to preventing blockages.
Sluicing during maintenance of Aridian, Falcon and Uridan urinals: When a Falcon cartridge needs changing, or a Uridan trap needs maintenance, we recommend that the urinal is sluiced with 300ml of Gentworks Bactericidal Cleaner with 2700ml of warm water - 3 litres of solution in total. This will help to break down any uric scale, fats, hair and debris in the waste pipes and flush it all through to the main drain.
IMPORTANT: We recommend that you only sluice Armitage Shanks/Ideal Standard Aridian, Falcon or Uridan waterless urinals after the cartridge/outlet has been removed, for example, when the cartridge is changed or cleaned out. These urinals use an oil-based sealant to prevent odours which can be washed away if sluiced with Batericidal Cleaner. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT SLUICE WITH BACTERICIDAL CLEANER WHILE CARTRIDGE IS IN PLACE UNLESS IT IS A GENTWORKS UMD, AQUAFREE UMD or a GW6.

Gentworks Bactericidal Cleaner passes the following standards:
BS EN 1276 is the European standard for the bactericidal activity of chemical disinfectants as proof of effective infection control against harmful micro-organisms such as MRSA, Salmonella, E.Coli, Flu Virus (H1N1) and Pseudomonas Aeruginosa. In order to pass this standard, products have been tested by an independent laboratory and must prove a bacteria kill rate of 99.999% within 5 minutes.
BS EN 13704 tests the sporicidal action against C. Difficile, spores which can continue to survive and breed in harsh conditions and are therefore very difficult to kill using traditional disinfectants.

Gentworks Bio-Blue (Anti Scale) is a good all round cleaner, but is particularly effective at combating the odours found in gents washrooms. Bio-Blue penetrates deep into porous surfaces such as tile grout and other hard to clean areas and when used regularly, neutralises odours at source. The microbiological action converts stale urea into harmless carbon dioxide and water to leave the area fresh and hygienically clean. The product is suppied as a concentrate. Features:

Bio-Fizz is designed for the treatment of slow flowing and blocked urinals and drains. It removes scale and organic material and helps prevent the build-up of unpleasant odours. Bio-Fizz contains natural microbes and is biodegradable and does not have any adverse effects on the operation of effluent treatment plants. Each tub contains at least 250 tablets. Gentworks note: In the past, when Gentworks provided urinal servicing, this product was extensively used by our field-service engineers to proactively prevent blockages and maintain proper drainage. Usage Waterless Urinals: First remove the waterless cartridge or valve. Next, dissolve two tablets in one litre of warm water and use the solution to sluice the urinal. Alternatively, you can drop one or two tablets directly into each urinal and add warm water. It's best to do this between cartridge or valve changes. Please note that you should not use this product with the waterless cartridge still in place. Toilets: Drop 2-3 tablets into the toilet bowl and allow them to dissolve before flushing. For optimal descale or where remedial action is required, leave tablets in bowl overnight if possible. Drains: Drop 4-5 tablets into the drain and allow them to dissolve. Sluice if required. Biodegradable Corn Plastic Urinal Cartridge

An alternative to the Aquafree UMD, the Cornplastic Urinal Maintenance Device cartridge also dispenses beneficial microbes and other active ingredients over a 3 month period. The casing, however, is made from renewable energy cornplastic (PLA) conforming to the ISO 14001 standard. The cartridge will completely biodegrade within 1 year, under normal landfill conditions, reducing the impact on the environment.
Pack sizes:
Cornplastic replacement cartridges are available in the pack sizes of 1, 4, 12, 24 and 32 units. Please use the drop down below to select the pack size required. Note that cartridges supplied have a shelf-life of approximately 15 months.
Optional Waste outlet fitting to act as a receptacle for the cartridge: 38mm (1.5') diameter X 40mm long waste provided as standard, with appropriate backnut and washer.

Usage:
Cartridges should be changed every 3 months. To do this, wearing suitable gloves, simply pull vertically the used cartridge out for disposal and insert the new replacement cartridge. The cartridges reduce the incidence of smells, blockages and, of course, water consumption. The contents of the cartridge are designed to break down urine and prevent odours. However, they are not able to break down hair and other debris likely to enter the waste pipes. So, if the cartridges are installed in urinals that are not being flushed, it is essential to "dose" each urinal weekly - a very simple task. For each urinal, mix 100ml of Gentworks Bactericidal Cleaner with 900ml warm water from the washroom hot tap. Pour the resulting 1 litre of diluted solution over and around the head of the cartridge. There is no need to remove the cartridge before doing so.
Cleaning:
Most odour problems result from poor cleaning practices. The urinal should be cleaned regularly with Gentworks Bactericidal Cleaner (same dilution as for dosing), Gentworks Bio-Blue or another neutral cleaning product. Cleaning products containing acids, strong alkalis and bleaches must not be used as these will kill the active ingredients contained in the Aquafree cartridge and may lead to odours and blockages.
