Current production and delivery time is around 6-7 weeks GW6-15 Sonoran Waterless Urinal Bowl
![]() The GW6-15 Sonoran waterless urinal bowl uses the same valve and "snorkel" technology as the popular GW6 cartridge. The urinal is manufactured in 9mm thickness glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) making it robust and resistant to damage. The urinal has a large footprint making it ideal for replacing standard flushing urinals and should cover any damaged wall coverings or tiling left from the previous installation The Sonoran incorporates the latest version of the GW6-15 valve core with much faster drainage - approximately 12 litres per minute. This allows for more effective sluicing of the waste pipes to keep them even cleaner. Chemical resistance has also been much improved, particularly against bleach, to which silicone valves are particularly vulnerable. The dual valves are now manufactured in a special silicone to reduce the chance of damage from harsh cleaning chemicals, although these are still best avoided in order to maximise the life of the cartridge. Note: The bowl shown in the YouTube video demonstrating the GW6-15 urinal system is not the Sonoran. Key Benefits:
Bowl Dimensions: Height = 720mm Width = 465mm Projection from wall = 275mm
Includes:
- 1 x GW6-15 Sonoran waterless urinal
- 1 x GW6-15 housing, valve and removal key
- 2 x Wall hangers
Recommended Waste Fittings
For horizontal waste pipe— McAlpine T5M or T5M-A 1½" 90° Multifit Bend x BSP Coupling Instead of a fluid barrier, the GW6-15 valve uses a silicone double-skirt valve which is tolerant of both water and common cleaning chemicals.
How to avoid blockages in waste pipes
Whilst the waste pipes of waterless urinals block less frequently than for most flushed urinals, uric acid salts can still form a sludge which eventually could cause a blockage. Sludge can be a particular problem if the waste pipes are shared with sinks or are poorly configured. Gentworks recommends periodic sluicing with Bactericidal Cleaner to break down this sludge and carry it away into the main drain. The GW6-15 valve can be sluiced regularly; once every 2 to 4 weeks is recommended. The solution used should be approximately 1 part Bactericidal Cleaner to 9 parts warm water from the washroom hot tap. If Bactericidal Cleaner is not available, using some soap in warm water instead will aid drainage.
