Gentworks 1200 GRP Wash Trough wall hung with Tap Deck

The drinking fountain is also corrosion resistant making it more suitable than stainless steel for chlorine or salt water environments.

It can be installed at adult or junior height and features a 255mm high under-shroud and baseplate to conceal the water supply and waste connections to deter vandalism.

Each drinking fountain is supplied with a 32mm flush grated waste fitting and a chrome plated shielded bubbler (or swan-neck bottle filler) complete with a self-closing push button valve. The valve incorporates a flow adjuster and strainer and is supplied with a water inlet fitting to suit 15mm diameter pipework.

  Cleaning

The GW6 waterless urinal system is tolerant of standard cleaning chemicals but care should be taken with GRP products. Only mild products should be used. For best results, we recommend Nviro-Clean and Bactericidal Cleaner for GRP urinals.

  How to avoid blockages in waste pipes

Whilst the waste pipes of waterless urinals block less frequently than for most flushed urinals, uric acid salts can still form a sludge which eventually could cause a blockage. Sludge can be a particular problem if the waste pipes are shared with sinks or are poorly configured.  Gentworks recommends periodic sluicing with Bactericidal Cleaner to break down this sludge and carry it away into the main drain. The GW6 valve can be sluiced regularly; once every 2 to 4 weeks is recommended.  The solution used should be approximately 1 part Bactericidal Cleaner to 9 parts warm water from the washroom hot tap. Sluicing volume should be approximately 2 litres for the Accona models. 

These GW6 Accona waterless urinal troughs are not only lightweight, easy to clean, and quick to install, but they also deliver substantial water savings compared to flushing-type urinals. They serve as an excellent alternative to stainless steel troughs, offering comparable durability and strength. Constructed from Glass-Fibre-Reinforced Plastic (GRP), they feature a sleek Gelcoat gloss white finish.

GW6 Chara Lightweight Compact Waterless GRP Urinal

The GW6 Chara waterless urinal bowl uses the same GW6 valve core as the popular GW6 cartridge. The urinal is UK manufactured in glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) making it much lighter than a typical ceramic bowl but much more resistant to damage. The gel coating is hand polished to a beautiful long-lasting finish.

GW6 Karoo Compact Waterless Urinal

The GW6 Karoo waterless urinal bowl uses the same GW6 valve core as the popular GW6 cartridge. The urinal is manufactured in ceramic and is suitable for both concealed and exposed pipework. The compact design, projecting only 260mm from the wall, avoids splashback issues by having a deeper than normal bowl,

Key Benefits:

The GW6 cartridge fits Aridian waterless urinal bowls and others that take 118mm diameter cartridges. It is tolerant of the standard cleaning chemicals and practices that may have a detrimental impact on the performance of other types of waterless urinal system. This product now includes the latest version of the GW6 valve core, with the special pressure release system for greater drain pressure tolerance and increased flow rate.

This unit is tolerant of most standard cleaning chemicals and water but avoid using bleach and cleaning products with more than 10% acid content. Harsh cleaning products may reduce the life of the silicone valves within this cartridge.

Note: At the request of some trade customers, this cartridge is also available with no printing on the surface. "GW6" is a registered trademark of Gentworks Ltd.

We've created adaptors to retrofit GW6 into other brands of waterless urinals.

GW6 valves typically last around 6 months, with replacement valves costing less than £35.00. Moreover, they don't require blocking fluid or expensive specialised cleaning products. This makes GW6 a good option for the hire market when installed in welfare cabins.

We offer an adaptor to convert the Uridan waterless Crew Troughs to the GW6, eliminating the need for blocking fluid. Additionally, another adapter is available to convert URIMAT polycarbonate waterless urinals.

Please be advised that professional installation is necessary for these adaptors. The original system must be removed from the urinal, and the new GW6 adapter installed and connected to the drain. See fitting instructions in the Product Data Sheets tab above.

The GW6-15 Patagonian ceramic waterless urinal bowl uses the same valve and "snorkel" technology as the popular GW6 cartridge. The urinal is manufactured in ceramic and is suitable for concealed pipework. The Patagonian now incorporates the latest version of the GW6-15 valve core with much faster drainage - approximately 12 litres per minute. This allows for more effective sluicing of the waste pipes to keep them even cleaner. Chemical resistance has also been much improved, particularly against bleach, to which silicone valves are particularly vulnerable. The dual valves are now manufactured in a special silicone to reduce the chance of damage from harsh cleaning chemicals, although these are still best avoided in order to maximise the life of the cartridge.

The Tanami now incorporates the latest version of the GW6-15 valve core with much faster drainage - approximately 12 litres per minute. This allows for more effective sluicing of the waste pipes to keep them even cleaner. Chemical resistance has also been much improved, particularly against bleach, to which silicone valves are particularly vulnerable. The dual valves are now manufactured in a special silicone to reduce the chance of damage from harsh cleaning chemicals, although these are still best avoided in order to maximise the life of the cartridge. 

Note:  The bowl shown in the YouTube video demonstrating the GW6-15 urinal system is not the Tanami.  

Key Benefits:

A smaller version of the long-established GW6 cartridge, the GW6-15 is designed to fit urinals that take a 1.5" BSP waste outlet. It has been thoroughly tested at customer sites and in the laboratory, with many refinements being made since its introduction in 2017. The GW6-15 allows odour-free operation in waterless urinals as well as those being low flushed, even if only once per week. It also works with normal flush frequencies but the main purpose of the cartridge is usually to save water, and therefore reduce carbon footprint.

A special silicone formula used in production of the dual "skirt" valves gives good tolerance of common cleaning chemicals within the pH range of 4 to 10. Typical life is 6 to 9 months but harsher cleaning products may reduce this.

The hole diameter required in the ceramic of the urinal to accommodate this conversion kit is 50mm +/-1.5 mm
